In this post I would like to share my respond to a comment posted by QueenOfHearts (QOH) a couple of weeks ago as follows:
“Just would like to add on a little bit of my thoughts on Fact of Life #6 ...please feel free to correct me if I am wrong...in finding solutions to some of my problems...I have sometimes found that the answer or solution was already staring me at my face...like there was a voice in my head... yet I chose to ignore it...only to realise later that I actually had already found the solution (tepuk dahi la)...so...i think we sometimes also need to let our instincts guide us as well...we need to also listen to ourselves and belief in ourselves ...What say you Doc..?? “
Dear QOH, Thank you for sharing your thoughts in my blog. Please bear with me for the late respond. I was not blogging during the Hari Raya Aidl Fitri weeks. Here, I have broken your comments into five segments so that I can give my responce more specifically based on the areas concerned as follows;
#1. please feel free to correct me if I am wrong: Honestly there is no correction needed. In fact, my blog is not about teaching people on the ‘rights or wrongs’ - its about sharing real genuine experiences amongst the readers in facing real life issues. I sincerely hope that through the sharing, in some small ways, we can touch and make more meanings to the life of other people in trying to relate and reflect, the issues and challenges that they faced in life, in their own context. Hopefully that would help surfaces some of the insights that might be burried alongside the persuit of potential solutions to an issue and finally, the so called ‘rights and wrongs’ shall be decided by them.
It is my wish that the writings in my blog serve just as one of the inputs needed by them to subsequently take the responsibility to move towards a clearer direction or craft and implement whatever actions that they may choose to take (taking no action is also an action).
#2. ...in finding solutions to some of my problems...I have sometimes found that the answer or solution was already staring me at my face...like there was a voice in my head... It is indeed a priceless blessings from Allah SWT if you have acknowledged that phenomenon. You should be very grateful for that. As for me, it took me many years just to know that point, let alone to understand and feel the reality of the messages tingelling inside me for recognition before finally I realize that it is actually a gift from God. Allah Rabbul Izzati has given that gift to us since the day we were sent to this world - empowered through the unseen system of the universe.
That is why, time and again, great schloars, scientist and wise grandmasters all over the world, recommend us to listen to our body – and that is not an easy skill to be mastered. (especially nowadays where everything seems to be gajeted and makes us become too dependent on machines. As a result we are geting further and further away from our innerself. True enough those technological gadgets are meant to enhance research etc. for the betterment of mankind but, we cannot discard the fact that there is a huge price to pay – the expense of loosing control over our own body and essence-self.).
It is important to know that once that skill (innerself-control) is mastered, one would then pocess the real key that can open the doors to genuine love, health and prosperity to cruise the journey of life successfully into the next after-life (hereafter). Anyway this is one of the essence of my BLP program i.e. bringing us closer to ourselves, our families, our neighbour, our country and our universe living in harmony and balanced.
#3. yet I chose to ignore it...only to realise later that I actually had already found the solution (tepuk dahi la). This is not uncommon. Many people undergo quite similar experiences in their own context. Many times we tend to ignore those signals and messages. Most of the time ending up regreting not doing something about it.
On the other hand, we also faced countless experience of frustration and disappointment as a result of following what seems to be a message in our innerself. In this case, it is very important to distinguish between wispers of ‘haq’ (truth) or ‘bathil’ (evil). It is always like that. God created most of the contents in the uiverse in pairs, such as men & women, day & night, positive & negative, black & white as well as good & evil. This is the very reasons why ‘ilmu’ (knowledge) ‘ehsan’ & ‘amal solleh’ (virtuous pratices) are essential to screen and identify the demarcation of either of the paris that happen inside us at a particular point of time.
For this purpose, there are specific techniques that we can apply or impart based on the teachings and guidance of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW. The art and science of decision makin and inner control. Honestly, I am still undergoing the process of learning that skill. It is becoming more and more interesting and is undoubtedly a very worthy time spending initiatives. At the same time, I am documenting those learning experiences and concurrently internalizing, refining them for the purpose of transfering the acquired basic body of knowledge and skills. I am more convinced now that mastering the skill s a life long journey - after every mystery solved in relations to that skill, other new mysteries emmerge.
Please also tak e note that, there are also many cases where the results of actions taken based on following inner-self messages in search for solutions, led to mixed experiences - pleasant as well as unpleasant. How do we explain this phnomenon? This is an interesting topic, but may require subtantial elaborations. InsyaAllah, I will share my views in my next post.
#4. ...so...i think we sometimes also need to let our instincts guide us as well...we need to also listen to ourselves and belief in ourselves ... what is instincts in layman definitions? How can we trust our instincts? What are the difference between instinct, 'firasat', affirmations & hunches? These are some other interesting topics, InsyaAllah, I hope to share my views in my next post.
#5. What say you Doc..?? Thank you for the sharing. You have actually echoed and amplified some of the basic principles of iving in balance that I am advocating in my BLP programs. Perhaps in the enar future, if you (and many others) care to quote some of the real-life examples and allow me to share with the rest of the world, I would gladly include them in the book I am currrently writing.
Salam Sihat, Ceria, Tenang
